Turkish filmmaker, educated at Çukurova University where he has also lectured in cinematography and photography. His first feature film, Lüks Otel (The Luxury Hotel)[1] won the 2011 award Golden Orange for Best Cinematographer and the jury´s special awards for Best Film and Best Music at the 48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.[citation needed] Korkmaz was the director of photography for the 2013 feature film Yola Çikmak (Take the Road)[2] directed by Evren Erdem. For the 2014 feature film Gittiler ‘Sair ve Mechul’ (Gone ‘The Other and the Unknown´),[3] Korkmaz was responsible for script, directing, cinematography and editing.
Ceren Can Korkmaz was born in Iskenderun. After completing her primary and secondary education in Iskenderun, she went to Adana for university education. In 2007, she graduated from Çukurova University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration. After her education, she moved to Istanbul and started working there. She worked as a photographer in the documentary projects like “Satırarası” which was filmed for the Turkish Radio Television (TRT) and “Beyaz Anadol” which was filmed independently. Then she worked as a photographer in Turkuvaz Media magazine group (House Beatiful, Home Art, Aktüel, Cosmopolitan, Sofra, Bebegim, Bazaar, Touch Istanbul etc.). She specialized in Lifestyle, Architecture and Portrait photography. During this duty, she also managed a photography project of the magazine group in the Turkic Republics. Ceren Can Korkmaz, who studied photography and cinema at Çukurova University Fine Arts Department and also photography at Fototrek, won the second prize in the competition named “Squares from Life Through Women’s Eyes” organized by Anadolu Hayat A.S. She is still a freelance photographer.
